Une photo prise à la Flèche d’Or (Paris 20), dans les toilettes. J’ai eu l’oeil attiré par les tags sur les murs, et par la lumière. J’ai eu “la chance” de prendre aussi la jeune fille qui y entrait, et que les réglages de mon appareil permettent d’obtenir cet effet de flou.

A shot taken at La Flèche d’Or (Paris 20), in the toilets. My eye got caught by the tags on the walls, and by the light. I have also been “lucky” that I could have shot the girl that was just entering the toilets. And that the settings of the camera led to this blur effect.

First shot for me on Foto-licious! Quite similar to one I recently posted on my blog but I just love the colours. Makes me want to buy a Vespa very, very badly.

Premier shooting avec mon EOS 40D tout neuf. Exposition Monumenta 2008, au Grand-Palais à Paris. L’invité de cette session de Monumenta est Richard Serra, qui a installé sa “Promenade” à travers ses immenses plaques d’acier sous la Nef du Grand-Palais.

First shooting with my brand new EOS 40D. Monumenta 2008 exposition, at the Grand-Palais, Paris. The special guest artist for this session of Monumenta is Richard Serra. He brought his “Promenade” through his huge steel plates under the Nave of the Grand Palais.

Day trip to Saqqarah, some of the most ancient pyramids of Egypt (please notice the leveling of the pyramids on the opposite of Gizeh pyramids). Took this shot a while ago. I perfectly remember lying on the burning sand to get my perfect angle. Sweet Emotion.

Une photo qui date un peu, mais que j’aime toujours autant. Le petit village de Yangshuo au sud de la Chine. Un paysan qui récolte son riz, les pieds dans l’eau. Cliché, au deux sens du terme, certes, mais une image marquante pour moi malgré tout.

An old photo, but I still like it very much. The small village of Yangshuo, south of China. A peasant cropping his rice field, feet in the water. Photo, and “cliché” indeed, but still a touching picture for me.

STORYLINE:
One afternoon, back from the beach, strong envy and lust of getting a shot I have been thinking about for a long time.
I imagined a grainy black and white with a beautiful flower on the focused foreground that would occult the out-of-focus background story.
It took me a zillions of shot to get what I wanted (and an extremely cooperative model). Bottomline, we both agree that we really like that shot. you ?

PS: As an amateur photograph, I still don’t understand how I had to o down to f22 to get my correct DoF. I was expecting much lower (f9 / f8 maybe). Anyone?

Hi.
Here is my first post on Foto-licious. I’m gonna take it easy, I will copy the boss. Here is my submission for the WEC13 on lense.fr.
Some “pop” orange, a slot-in record player coupled with well-know white earphones for MP3 listeners and… a Beatle! Let’s sum that up into a mix of symbols to link the radically different ancient and modern ways of listening to Pop music, whereas its icons are still the same…

STORYLINE:
That shoot is my contribution for this week contest @ lense.fr. The theme was POP, and to be truly honest I was not completely inspired. I thought about it for a while and then I went for the musical aspect of it. When listening to POP (or at least when some people do), you just wanna let it go and let the energy flow out. That is what the shoot is trying to stand for. But not too happy about it.
