Water Mirror @ Bordeaux

Camera: Canon Eos 40D

Exposure: 0.003 s (1/400)
Aperture: f9
Focal length: 50 mm
ISO speed: 160

Week-end à Bordeaux, balade le long des quais réhabilités, en particulier avec ce “Miroir d’Eau”. L’occasion de jouer un peu avec les reflets, ainsi qu’avec la “fumée d’eau” et les nuages.

Week-end in Bordeaux, walk along the renovated docks, particularly with this “Water Mirror”.
An opportunity to play with reflexion, as well as with the “water smoke” and the clouds.

STORYLINE

Cairo - Egypt. 10th of February 2008. Egypt has just won for the second time in row the African Cup of Football. One should know that football and nationalism is pretty huge in Egypt. You happen to mix the two, plus the days and months of frustration due to prices increases, noise, traffic jams, and overall oppression, you find yourself with true hell broken loose. In a good way.

It was just the right time to get my gear, my best smile, a body armor and an empty memory card. Results, 200+ shots taken, the best 13 shared (see suite)

Egypt won against Cameroon 1 to 0 in the final. At the final whistle blow, the entire city started vibrated and I felt the floor moving. A whole country decided to get down in the street to celebrate. The biggest traffic in Cairo history is now getting in place. A massive parking full of happiness and joy. Party is everywhere. Smile is omnipresent. Old and young, muslim and copt, men and women, Egyptian all in all. I never witnessed such happiness and deliverance. Not even in France when we got World champs in 98′. Not even close.

Glowing Sphere
[Second picture as a first bonus. I love it! ]

One should note that you could witnessed zillions of small stands selling out cigarettes, chips, lighters, food and aerosols. You have the perfect recipe for improvised flame thrower. Not even scary. Hell.

Ok, and as a bonus, you’ll get the slideshow in the suite.
